Queen Bee Birthday Party

Queen Bee Birthday Bash
My Mother-In-Law always does so much for everyone. I saw this party idea on Silly Bee's Chickadee's blog. I have been waiting for a reason to re-create this great party with my own touches...
We celebrated her birthday with her girlfriends. I asked everyone to wear yellow (they thought it was her favorite color!), and I asked Kathy to wear either black, white or black and white...
The theme of the party was a surprise for everyone!
Sweet Table with "Bee" theme

Cupcakes were vanilla with cream cheese frosting.
I bought the edible sugared honey bees from amazon!

Honey Bears for for the guests to take home

Small jars with lemon drops for everyone!

Queen Bee Tiara (I actually found a light up flashing tiara for the Queen at Party City...She wore it all night!)

Her Throne

Bumble Bee Pinata
made from soccer ball pinata, covered with yellow yarn!
The inside was filled with Bit O'Honey candy...see later in the post

tissue paper flowers were everywhere! I went crazy with yellow tissue paper, I am addicted to them now!

Baby's Breath flowers with chenille bees, I found these on Amazon as well

Bee cookie jar, $4.00 on sale from Homegoods!

My favorite detail...
"Get Buzzed!"

Homemade Honey Lemonade was a hit, even better with Vodka!

This beer tastes great..."Honey Lager!"

Surf Party

Aloha 40!
My husband turned 40...we went with the Surf Theme..
It was a fun party to plan without falling into the typical "Hawaiian" theme
Aloha is a great word to use for a banner, It means Hello, goodbye and Love...
In this case "Hello 40..."

This was the dessert table and sweet table
Instead of a cake, homemade cupcakes with plastic surfboards as decorations. I ordered the surfboards from Amazon.
These were easy...slice and bake sugar cookies with slivered almonds = yummy sand dollar cookies

Liquid Aloha is a perfect name for the drinks
This time liquid aloha = liquid love

These were a hit!
Jello Shots in oranges!

Recipe:
1 package of Jello
1/2 cup Vodka
1/2 cup water
3 oranges per package

pour 1/2 cup boiling water over one package of jello, stir in 1/2 cup vodka. Previously. cut in half oranges and carefully remove orange sections and pulp. Pour mixed jello in oranges and chill over night. When ready to serve, cut each half into thirds.

How cool are these! Longboard Beer! Look around there are great Beer Labels!

Pipeline Punch and Longboard Lemonade were the mixers..

Fruit Kabobs, easy and always a hit!

The menu was Bar-B-Q....yum!

Happy Birthday!
