Homemade Donuts Recipe!

Get Ready for Memorial Day weekend and how about some Patriotic Donuts!
Actually, any day is good for Homemade Donuts...
share her recipe for Donuts!
Whisk together-
2c powdered sugar
4 TBSP butter melted
1 TBSP milk
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla
Set aside

1 1/4 cup cake flour, sifted
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. lemon zest
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 egg lightly beaten
1 1/2 TBSP butter, melted
3/4 tsp. vanilla

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Mix together sugar and lemon zest- set aside.
3. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.  Stir in sugar mixture.
4. Add in the rest of the ingredients and stir until combined.
5. Put batter into piping bag.
6. Fill donut pan half full.
7. Bake for about 6 minutes.  Donuts will be light on top and darker on bottom
Let donuts cool slightly and then top with glaze and sprinkles.
